Moon Signs
By Sally Cragin

When market business was bad in the East End the trader would exclaim: "Ah! I expect I forgot to bow to the new moon!"

London, Peter Ackroyd

Personally, I love a waning moon. Once you figure out that everything is supposed to be low-energy, low-voltage, sea-level, life makes more sense. And Peter Ackroyd is right – figure that even after the moon is new, things will rev up again, but slowly.

Wednesday, Feb. 26 Waning moon in Capricorn. Good day for being cautious, stubborn, or the person willing to address the 5,000 envelopes or hold up the central pole of the tent while everyone else runs around with pegs in their hands. Taureans, don't be distracted by fire- or air-sign people who have no follow-through. You have follow-through, and that's what counts.

Thursday, Feb. 27 Waning moon in Capricorn/Aquarius. The best-laid plans go completely awry today, so the smart Moon Signs reader will have nothing but contingency plans in store. You'll have to do more than clean your glasses to find focus, but hang with the creative folks. Capricorns, if you must be Eeyore, at least be amusing. Aquarians, keep track of what you're doing, or make sure an earth- or cardinal-sign person in your life does this for you. VOC 4:58 a.m. to 11:24 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 28 Waning moon in Aquarius. Good day to be out shopping for things with wires or cords. Taureans, be careful your comments aren't too sharp (this will be true for March, actually). Aquarians, don't let the air and fire people drive you nuts. Be less available. This may mean turning off the answering machine when you leave your pad. Geminis, of course, wouldn't dream of doing this. Twins may want the rest of us to connect more than we think we do.

Saturday, March 1 Waning moon in Aquarius. Where'd I put my keys? Where'd I put my car? Yes, it's those lazy, hazy, crazy days of the waning moon. Aquarians might be particularly aimless, but Leos could get stirred up over shadows. Hold off on decisions or doing what you think people want you to do. This is also true for scorpions and bulls – not your day to shine, folks (unless you work in the "combative" fields of psychiatric nursing or direct sales). VOC 6:30 p.m. to 7:26 p.m.

Sunday, March 2 Dark of the moon in Pisces. Again, plenty of energy but little focus, though artists could be happy and creative (if given enough time, space, and silence). Don't put time limits on activities if you can help it. Fishies, hangovers are temporary but unkind words spoken to you today could really rankle. Avoid the stress producers in your life. Cancer, it's a good day for declarations and an even better one for cooking. Just double-check ingredients.

Monday, March 3 New moon in Pisces; Venus moves into Aquarius. January and February were about the fire and air people; this month it's water and earth time. Cautious new beginnings is the theme today, though romance for air signs could be more impetuous. December Capricorns get to make a big decision this week and develop projects that stalled in the fall. And today that might be a relatively painless process.

Tuesday, March 4 Waxing moon in Aries. It could be easy to jump to conclusions, especially for Aries or Cancers who may feel they've not been getting all of the facts. Sagittarians, pretend the weekend didn't happen and pursue other avenues/acquaintances/arts. Geminis and Aquarians could get everyone together, or at least get them to have (dis)agreeable unity on a matter. VOC 5:04 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.
KEY TO SALLY CRAGIN’S MOON SIGNS
This horoscope uses the passage of the moon as much as the sun to provide a forecast, and thus it’s applicable to everyone. However, the specific signs mentioned in each day’s forecast are receiving special attention from the universe. Each week all 12 signs will be mentioned, usually more than once.

When the moon is in your sun sign, you are beginning a new 28-day cycle. During that period expect really wide emotional swings. When the moon is opposite your sun sign, expect difficulties with your preferred gender, authority figures, and your better angel. When the moon is in Aries, it opposes Libra. Other oppositions are Taurus-Scorpio, Gemini-Sagittarius, Cancer-Capricorn, Leo-Aquarius, and Virgo-Pisces. The moon takes about two and a half days to cruise through a sign.

Still with me? Finally, as the moon changes sign, it will sometimes become “void of course.” This means it ceases to make major angles to planets. Consider this a null time, and try to avoid business decisions until this period is over. If you’ve got to make a move, stay skeptical. But it’s terrific for making art. All void-of-course times are pacific daylight. Visit www.moonsigns.net for more information. .
